Gebrüder Kühn - 醒酒器 - Holmegaard “Glug Bottle” - .925 銀 - 苹果-蓝色海绿色

A rare and striking apple-blue Holmegaard “Glug Bottle” (Klukflaske) fitted with a solid sterling silver collar by Gebrüder Kühn, Schwäbisch Gmünd. A luxury cross-border piece combining iconic Danish art glass with high-quality German silverwork. The bottle is hand-blown in deep apple-blue/sea-green, with the characteristic pinched sides that form internal air channels. When the bottle is poured, the trapped air produces the famous “glug–glug” sound, which gave the design its name. The form is closely connected to the classic Holmegaard Klukflaske, one of Denmark’s most iconic glass designs from the late 19th and early 20th century. A well-known glassmaker’s tale says the shape originated by accident when a glassblower got the hiccups, causing the hot glass to collapse inward. Whether myth or truth, the resulting four interior columns became an intentional and highly successful design feature. These channels: give the bottle strength make it easier to hold and create the distinctive glug sound when pouring This bottle shows the same signature Holmegaard construction and colour palette used between ca. 1930–1950. Sterling Silver Collar – Gebrüder Kühn The bottle is mounted with a solid sterling silver collar, fully hallmarked: Half-moon & crown – German national silver mark 925 – Sterling silver fineness Maker’s mark: Gebrüder Kühn, Schwäbisch Gmünd – one of Germany’s most important silver workshops of the 19th–20th century, known for high-quality table pieces and mounted glassware This combination of Danish glass and German silver was a coveted luxury category, often sold through high-end department stores and giftware retailers. Measurements approx. Height without stopper: 23 cm Height with stopper: 30 cm ( stopper has a small default ) Width: 9 × 9 cm Weight: 664 g Condition Very good vintage condition. Minor expected signs of age in the glass. The faceted stopper( light default ) fits well but don t know if this is original, i bought it like this. Silver lightly polished. Circa 1930–1950 Originally used as a liqueur bottle, scent bottle, bath oil or vanity decanter Today highly collectible as Scandinavian mid-century glass with German silver.
