The tray and four of the plates are original 1941 pieces, while two plates were carefully replaced in the 1960s, restoring the set to full functionality and visual harmony. The iconic Rothschild Bird pattern was first created around 1850 for the European Rothschild family and is widely regarded as the very embodiment of hand-painted porcelain artistry. The composition features twelve different bird motifs, accompanied by delicately painted butterflies and insects in soft pastel tones. The design illustrates a charming 19th-century legend of Baroness Rothschild, who once lost her necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence.
