Description: A stunning pair of Japanese ceramic figurines depicting Koi (Carp), created by the renowned Kyoto master craftsman Hayashi Mokuu at his kiln, Isshian.
Hayashi Mokuu was a distinguished artist who studied under the legendary Kiyomizu Rokubey. He is celebrated for his exceptional ability to capture the lifelike movement and spirit of animals. This set features two carp—one in a soft red/pink hue and the other in a serene blue/grey—each exquisitely detailed with subtle glazing that mimics the scales and fluid form of a swimming fish.
In Japanese culture, the Koi is a powerful symbol of perseverance, courage, and good fortune.
