Meaning of Words
清風動脩竹 Seifū shūchiku o ugokasu
A pure breeze stirs the slender bamboo.
Yaku: Translation
This means "A pure breeze gently stirs the slender bamboo."
The Daihannya-kyō (Great Wisdom Sutra), though composed of 600 volumes with countless teachings and deep meanings, can ultimately be likened to this simple image: a pure wind softly rustling thin bamboo.
It expresses the thoroughly refined Buddhist concept of "emptiness" (kū), suggesting that profound truths move with subtlety and natural grace, without force.
