Meaning of Words
微風吹幽松 Bifū yūshō o fuku
A gentle breeze blows through the tranquil pines
Yaku: Translation
This phrase comes from a poem by Hanshan: “A gentle breeze blows through the tranquil pines; when listened to closely, the sound becomes even more delightful.”
It expresses the serene atmosphere found in the mountains of Hanshan. If one wishes to attain a state of peaceful enlightenment, they should remain in such a place. The delicate branches of quiet pine trees sway as a soft breeze passes through, and the sound of the wind, when heard nearby, becomes all the more beautiful.
