A dark and lustrous etched sphalerite crystal with disseminated pyrite microcrystals on top of which a pure white discoidal calcite crystal with some translucency is set, creating a really nice composition. This piece comes from the classic Portuguese deposit of Panasqueira, a mine developed to exploit a series of tabular veins of Sn–W mineralization that have produced some of the finest sulfide and fluorapatite specimens in the world and definitely from Europe.
