A great aesthetic miniature specimen featuring gem-grade apatite crystals forming a floating cluster accented by blades of cream-colored siderite. The apatite itself is remarkably zoned with a really thin band of fluid inclusions on the outside and a gemmy olive green interior that shows the typical ox-eye Panasqueira is known for. The crystals are also very lustrous and well-formed. This piece comes from the classic Portuguese deposit of Panasqueira, a mine developed to exploit a series of tabular veins of Sn–W mineralization that have produced some of the finest sulfide and fluorapatite specimens in the world and definitely from Europe.
