This is a beautiful Japanese hand mirror set from the famous "Yamanaka Lacquerware" tradition (Ishikawa Prefecture).
It comes with a foldable display stand, allowing it to be used as both a practical makeup mirror and a stunning interior decoration.
[ Design & Meaning ]
The back of the mirror features a gorgeous design of "Ogi" (Folding Fans) and "Kiku" (Chrysanthemums) on a glossy black background.
- Fans (Ogi): Symbolize prosperity and good luck as they spread out ("Sue-hirogari").
- Chrysanthemum (Kiku): The noble flower representing longevity and rejuvenation in Japan.
The colors are vivid, with gold, red, and green creating a luxurious contrast against the jet-black lacquer style finish.
