Usually the jet-black color is produced due to presence of phosphate in the prolonged fossilization process. Jet-black colored Megalodon are rare and undoubtedly very beautiful and in this teeth the color has also started to appear on the root as well which makes its more cool in its own way. May be a drop or two of glue are dropped on the open cracks of body as a precautionary measure to extend life but basically as mentioned earlier, the fossil is effectively in natural state.
