An Antique late 19th Century Anglo-Indian silver pedestal centerpiece bowl, probably made in Lucknow, India,
The front side with a vacant shield shaped cartouche, surrounded by repousse and chased decoration of an elaborate and engaging hunting scene, all in varying and high relief.
The dynamic scene on undulating ground wraps around the bowl, featuring a shikari in a howdah riding on the back of an elephant, other figure on horseback and hunters on foot with guns and hounds hunting animals in a landscape interspersed with palms and other trees.
The raised pedestal foot with acanthus border.
Apparently unmarked and positively acid tested for high grade silver
