Kneeling figures, often depicted in Chinese art from the Han dynasty, are mainly found as tomb attendants and offerings. These figures, usually made of clay, represent servants or individuals in a respectful posture, intended to accompany the deceased into the afterlife. They are usually made of gray earthenware or with traces of pigments on white slip, reflecting funeral customs and the belief in an afterlife.
