4 large hand embroidered napkins. This was a set of 12 napkins of which 8 had to be abandoned due to extensive wear and tear. This often is the problem with old French linen. This obviously was a large family and the same 8 napkins were used to deck the table and put back in exactly the same position after washing in the armoire leaving 4 napkins unused. The intricate initials L.C. are hand embroidered and each napkin is just that little different which makes them stand out. We have styled them with a Napoleon 111 silk and linen table linen and the design of the borders is almost identical although they were not a set originally.
