Burmese Amber (Myanmar) with Insect Larva Inclusion
Exceptional natural specimen of Burmese amber (Burmite) from the Kachin region, Myanmar, world-famous for its Cretaceous amber with biological inclusions.
This piece contains a well-preserved insect larva, clearly visible in full length. The body shows distinct segmentation and a defined head capsule, indicating a larval stage insect preserved in three dimensions. Such inclusions provide valuable insight into prehistoric ecosystems.
Based on morphology, the inclusion is most likely an insect larva belonging to Coleoptera (beetles) or possibly Diptera, which are both commonly found in Burmese amber. A precise species-level identification is not possible without microscopic taxonomic analysis, therefore the classification is given at a scientifically correct and accepted level.
