Late 19th to early 20th century Swedish sugar cutter housed in a dovetailed hardwood box with original brass fittings and working key. The hinged lid opens to reveal a mounted iron blade stamped Eskilstuna—a renowned Swedish center of steel production—secured with a turned wooden handle and resting over a slotted cutting block. The perforated base was designed to collect sugar fragments, typical of utility boxes used when sugar was sold in solid loaves.
