Established in 1874, the Fåglavik Glasbruk traces its storied origins to an unexpected snowstorm that stranded Gothenburg merchant A. M. Andersson in the village overnight. Recognizing the industrial potential of the region's vast peat bogs for fuel and its strategic rail links, Andersson realized his ambition to build a premier glassworks. By the 1960s and 1970s, the factory had evolved into one of Western Sweden’s most prominent cultural landmarks. It became a premier destination for enthusiasts, often hosting multiple daily coach tours of visitors eager to observe the master craftsmanship firsthand and acquire authentic pieces from the dedicated factory store. The vase is 21cm high, 10cm wide at the widest point, the opening measures 9cm. It weighs a substantial 1050g. The vase is made from mould -mouth blown glass and features a contrast lining in white. Please note: there are 2 small chips in the lining, (see photo 13) and a small production fault (see photo 18), a small bubble with a little bit of ash.
