古羅馬帝國 骨 游戏骰子,美丽的包浆 (沒有保留價)

A beautifully preserved Roman bone gaming die, hand made almost 2,000 years ago and in completely unrestored natural condition. This die exhibits the classic irregularities of ancient bone craftsmanship: natural pitting, slight asymmetry, and a rich, darkened patina formed over nearly two millennia. The darker coloration suggests long burial and mineral absorption, giving the piece strong visual character. Roman dice were everyday objects used in taverns, homes, military camps, and even placed in graves as personal possessions to accompany their owners into the afterlife. Examples recorded by the Museum of London show identical carving techniques, pitting, and wear patterns, reinforcing the authenticity of this piece. Comparable Recorded Specimens: London Museum Collection: Roman bone dice excavated across the City of London, 1st–4th century AD, showing similar size ranges and wear patterns: https://www.londonmuseum.org.uk/collections/v/object-477983/die/ Specimen Details: • Period: Roman Empire, 1st–3rd century AD • Material: Carved animal bone • Dimensions: approx. 11mm x 9mm x 10mm • Condition: Unrestored, age-related wear and surface pitting; patina intact • Provenance: acquired in the United Kingdom from a trusted seller, previously part of an old pre 1990s UK collection. • Origin Western Roman Empire, Likely excavated in Britain Significance: A genuine and tactile piece of Roman daily life, representing the leisure activities, gambling culture, and personal belongings of ordinary people across the Empire. Ideal for display, study, or as an addition to any curated collection of Roman antiquities. Shipped from the UK. Catawiki disclaimer: This object has been dated based on style by the seller . No further tests have been conducted to check the integrity of the piece.
