A very rare small Chinese celadon jade censer – China – mid of 20th Century On offer is a very rare small Chinese jade censer with 2 handles and standing on a flat feet. On the outside, the 8 attributes of the 8 immortals are visible! It has a nice meander pattern finish just under the rim. Carved and polished by a skilled professional to a semi-glossy appearance. The design is well known in bronze but occurs much less often in jade! This small censer has a beautiful natural appearance with green accents. The censer is semi-translucent. Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color.
