A model of an Inuit kayak on wooden stand, measuring 48,5cm in length, made in the traditional way with fish vellum tightly stretched over a light wooden skeletal frame, the fishing and hunting accessories carved from wood and bone, the carved wooden figure dressed in linen traditional garb. Such models were made in the early to mid 20th century to be sold to tourists and servicemen on their stay in Greenland. Many of them made their way to Denmark as a result. Condition: Overall good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age, possibly small pieces detached. See pictures for a more complete overview.
