This is a famous traditional folk art from Hokkaido, Japan. The salmon in this piece is painted in Yellow, creating a striking contrast with the dark black bear. The base features a vermilion decorative line, adding a touch of elegance. Inscriptions / Marks: On the bottom, there is a handwritten inscription in ink: "Showa 55 (1980), August 29 - Sapporo City" (昭和五十五年八月二十九日 札幌市). It also has an original sticker on the base reading: "Excellent Quality - Hokkaido Folk Craft - Hokkai Woodcraft Co." (優良 北海道民芸品 北海木工芸社). Condition: Good / Vintage condition.
