Description: A powerful Japanese vintage wooden carving of a bear biting a salmon, known as "Kibori Kuma". This is a famous traditional folk art from Hokkaido, Japan. The salmon in this piece is painted in Yellow, creating a striking contrast with the dark black bear. The base features a vermilion decorative line, adding a touch of elegance.
Inscriptions / Marks: On the bottom, there is a handwritten inscription in ink: "Showa 55 (1980), August 29 - Sapporo City" (昭和五十五年八月二十九日 札幌市). It also has an original sticker on the base reading: "Excellent Quality - Hokkaido Folk Craft - Hokkai Woodcraft Co." (優良 北海道民芸品 北海木工芸社).
Condition: Good / Vintage condition. There are minor signs of age and wear, but no major cracks or damage. Please refer to the photos.
