鐵器時代 罕见的一对铜臂环,带蛇头端饰

For sale is a carefully crafted pair of decorated bronze bracelets with open ends, designed in a snake head-like shape. Age: 4th - 3rd century BC Size: outer diameter 6.9 cm each, width 2.5 cm and weight 26.5 g and 27.4 g Condition: very good condition This finely worked pair of bronze armrings with open ends dates to the 4th–3rd century BC. The outer surfaces are richly decorated with stamped and incised geometric motifs arranged in a regular, continuous pattern. The terminals are plastically shaped and stylised to represent snake heads, a symbolic motif widely attested in Iron Age metalwork traditions. The elongated form of the terminals, the indicated eyes, and the slightly tapering ends support this interpretation. Traces of an original tin or silver coating are preserved, suggesting that the surface was intentionally enhanced. The decorative repertoire, formal design, and craftsmanship point to an origin within the late Iron Age to early Hellenistic cultural milieu, although a more precise regional attribution cannot be established with certainty. Each armring has an outer diameter of 6.9 cm and a width of 2.5 cm, with weights of 26.5 g and 27.4 g respectively. The pair is preserved in very good to good condition. Provenance: From the Austrian collection of Dr. N.. Collected between 1990 and 2005. Acquired on the European art market. An Austrian export license is available for the objects. Please notice: Due to the German Cultural Property Protection Act, an export licence is required for this item for shipment within the EU or to a third country. There is a one-time application fee of €25, which must be paid separately by the buyer. This fee covers the entire application, regardless of how many items are included.
