古埃及,後期 青銅色 鸭子雕像。来自哈尔特博士的瑞士收藏。
Egyptian animal figurine in the shape of a duck, probably used as a decorative pendant, now mounted on a wooden base.
Material: bronze
Date: 1st millennium BC (Late Period)
Dimensions: length of figurine 2.2 cm and height with base 2.2 cm
Condition: very good condition
The animal figure is made of cast bronze and is depicted in a reclining position. Based on the shape of the body and the depiction of the wings and tail, it can be interpreted as a duck. The body is compactly shaped, with the front slightly raised and the torso stretched backwards. The head is facing forwards and has a rounded snout and protruding eyes.
There is a hole pierced through the underside of the torso, indicating that it was originally used as a decorative pendant or amulet. The surface has an even, dark brown to greenish patina. Fine engraved lines adorn the body, emphasising the wings and tail in particular.
Animal figures of this type were widespread in the 1st millennium BC and were worn both as personal jewellery and as protective amulets. The figure is now mounted on a wooden base.
