In a legendary 2010 advertising campaign far from the German furniture comany Dedon's norm instead of the customary sleek shots of loungers beside infinity pools, Bruce Weber, the famous American photographer, assembled dogs, birds, donkeys and 20 models of all ages and ethnicities around a vast, sprawling tree house. Titled 'Coming Home', the refreshing series of images show the models cavorting on the hand–woven furniture. Dedon's chairs and loungers are no longer treated as objects of reverence. In these pictures, they're stacked on top of each other, strapped to bicycles and swung from trees. Building on themes that Weber developed for the DEDON advertising campaign, Coming Home is an exploration into the meaning of home life and lifestyle as well as the deep feelings we hold for them. Personal, poetic and eclectic, the book weaves together exclusive imagery by Bruce Weber with artwork and illustrations specially commissioned by the photographer.
