For sale is this exceptional vintage LONGINES ULTRA CHRON from the late 1960s. This is a one of a kind find that began its life as a blue dial ultra chron. It appears that over the years, the blue finish decayed into a gray silver ghost pattern. The center of the dial still displays the original blue tint, with everything else showing a wild patina. Lume is a creamy tan. Watch works perfectly and is powered by its original, famous Cal. 431 in-house longines movement, which was an early hi-beat caliber. The second hand on this watch sweeps! Watch also includes a date feature, plus early applied silver logos for the stylized "Longines" name and "Ultra Chron" frequency wave. Case is a monocoque one piece, with the movement loading in from the front with the crystal removed. For condition: - Case: Presents nicely while showing signs of honest wear from years of use. No personalizations or major wear. - Dial: One of a kind blue/silver ghost dial with applied silver indicies plus cool retro applied Longines logo and ulta chron logos. This dial is something else! White text is only visible in certain light due to the patina and fading. Stunning - I'm having a hard time letting this one leave my collection. - Hands: Original hands have been meticulously relumed with a dull cream patina that matches the original tritium indices. - Crystal: Acrylic. Clear with only minimal scratches / surface wear. - Crown: Crown is an unsigned replacement. Fits the case well and works perfectly. - Strap / Clasp: NOS Gray leather with a classic taper from the 18mm lugs to the 16mm buckle. Buckle is aftermarket, but steel and signed with the vintage Longines logo. - Movement: All original Cal 431 Hi Beat movement (36000 BPH) serviced a few weeks ago and in excellent condition plus running very accurately. This is a Beautiful movement that hasn't yet been fully discovered by the collector community.
