象牙 - 一尊来自东京学派的象牙摆件,描绘一位从丰收归来的农家女子。 - 明治时期(19世纪后期)

A Japanese Tokyo School monoblock ivory okimono depicting a peasant woman captured while walking home after the harvest. The figure moves forward carrying two pierced and finely woven bamboo baskets: a large one resting on her head and filled with flowers, steadied with her left hand, and a smaller basket held in her right hand, from which small chrysanthemums and leaves emerge. The quality of the work is evident in the exceptionally refined execution of the details, particularly in the deep and natural folds of the garments, the finely worked head covering, the cords of the straw sandals, the complex basket weaving, and the sensitive modeling of the hands. An incised signature is present beneath the base. ---The okimono is in good condition. The reverse shows the characteristic coloration of the outermost portion of the elephant tusk. Please refer to the pictures for further details. Okimono (置物), combining the kanji "oki" (置き, to place) and "mono" (物, object), refers to a decorative object meant for display. Okimono, popular in the Meiji period (1868 - 1912), were finely crafted sculptures made from materials such as ivory, boxwood, wood, and bronze. --- We will pack your object with the utmost care and entrust it to DHL or FedEx for delivery within 1–3 days. This lot complies with the current European Community regulations for the trade of pre-1947 worked ivory. The original CITES certificate will be delivered together with the object (valid only within the European Union). The original certificate of authenticity issued by our gallery will be provided to the buyer.. This item cannot be sold outside the EU--- 492
