Mongolian Bronze Lama Sculptures (Karmapa & Sharmapa - Karma Kagyu Lineage)
Exceptional and finely cast Mongolian bronze sculptures depicting two eminent Buddhist figures: Karmapa and Sharmapa, the highest incarnations of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
The first lama is shown blowing a conch shell, a powerful ritual symbol announcing the spread of the Buddha’s teachings. The second lama is depicted reading a Tipitaka, the sacred collection of Buddhist scriptures containing the words of the Buddha. Together, the pair forms a rare and harmonious ensemble embodying sound and wisdom, ritual and doctrine.
