巨大、真实的 Keichousaurus hui,牙齿清晰可见——早三叠纪海生爬行动物 - 骨骼化石

Scientific name: Keichousaurus hui, Young 1958 (marine reptile Pachypleurosauridae family) Location: Guanglin, Guizhou Province of China Geological Formation: Falang - Huxia Formation Age: Early Triassic (~242 million years ago) Size: 18,5cm long the specimen - 12 x 20,5cm x 1cm the matrix Ref: S403 Observations: Here we present one of our nicely preserved Keichousaurus specimens. Its preservation is particularly remarkable. It is very common to find many fake or heavily restored Keichousaurus specimens on the market. However, this specimen is pretty good. The preservation of the bones is impressive, and the level of detail is outstanding, mainly at the skull and full vertebrae from the neck, which is fully pristine perfect even preserving some of the tiny visible teeth and all the skull bones (frontal, orbitals, nasal, etc...). The premaxillary its nicely preserved showing some of its teeth. Right dentary as well is visible with almost all the teeth still in their alveoli. Size its also outstanding, quite an adult individual. Its fossilization position is also very aesthetically pleasing. It is a nice collector piece, far away from the typical bullshit. The specimen has been carefully prepared professionally using micro sandblasting. The restorations carried out consist primarily of gluing and filling fractures in the matrix. Those bones that were not as well preserved have been highlighted using a painting technique, although not many of them, mainly the ribs and dorsal vertebrae and limb bones. The head (skull) and neck are exceptionally well preserved. Most of the "restoration" has been performed on the matrix fractures. Keichousaurus hui is a small marine reptile from the Triassic of southern China. A member of the Pachypleurosauridae family, with a long neck, paddle-like limbs, and a slender tail, adapted for swimming in shallow marine environments. Fossils, often found in black shale, reveal a diet of small fish and invertebrates, inferred from its needle-like teeth. All of our fossils come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Every week, the issued Certificates of Authenticity are updated in our database verification system on our website. If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box not included.
