Karl Palda Glassworks - Karl Palda - 花瓶 - 玻璃 - 引人注目的艺术装饰风格设计
The famous Art-Deco glassware manufacturer Karl Palda founded his company in 1888 in Haida (now Novy Bor, Czech Republic). Haida was the historic center of the Bohemian glass industry. The company is world-renowned for its bold, geometric Art-Deco designs produced during the 1920's and 1930's. They specialized in luxury items such as decanter sets, vases, perfume bottles and vanity sets. These are often characterized by striking black enamel, acid-etched crystal and vibrant colours like ruby red, as is seen with this example.
This heavy-quality vase has a base and walls of 2cm. tapering to about 1cm. at the top. The base is hand-signed HAIDA over PALDA on one side and CZECHOSLOVAKIA on the other. The vase is in excellent, antique condition with only a small pit in the glass at the foot on one side-panel (hardly visible - see last photo), and a few very slight scratches on the base due to movement.
A prestigious addition to a glass and/or Art-Deco collection as well as being an interesting talking point!
