A large and heavy statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni sitting cross-legged on a lotus throne, measuring circa 275cm in height and weighing 1189g, carved from solid dark tropical hardwood (Coromandel) and decorated with splashes of gold leaf. Thailand or Burma, late 20th century. Condition Very good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age.
