You are bidding on a unique, handmade PIGINI Basson P34. This beautiful bass accordion is in great condition and has an excellent tone quality. It is unique in its kind; a full bass accordion at the size of only a standard 96-bass accordion, instead of the much greater 120-bass accordion that it is normally compared to. This makes the instrument lighter and much easier to handle without doing any concessions on tone quality. The bass accordion was produced in Castelfidardo, Italy where it was handmade by the PIGINI masters. A fantastic addition to any accordion orchestra and/or ensemble! Specifications: - 34 keys (almost 3 octaves) - Lowest note: C1 - Highest note: A3 - 8'/16' register fixed (no reed switches) - 440 Hz - Hand-made reeds and ranks - Excellent sound and projection - Size: 42x46x24 cm (LxWxH), roughly 7/8th of standard size - Year of construction: 2022, Italy - Serial number: 528274000063219 State: - All parts are original - Bellow is in perfect condition with no leaks or holes and good compression - All keys are equally tuned to 440Hz and no retuning is needed - All internal mechanics / levers / etc. are fully functional and operate without noise - All reeds are in perfect condition - Minimal wear from normal use to the instrument body (documented in pictures): * The padding on the back is worn (can be easily replaced; is removable) * Two small scratches on the top (close to belt tension adjustment) * Scratches on the bottom from jeans/pants while playing * Small indents near the screws of the front plate All of the wear is external and is visual only. Origin: I am the first owner of this instrument, which I ordered in 2021 (production time roughly 1 year) at the local PIGINI dealer in Twello, the Netherlands. The instrument was built in Castelfidardo, Italy and shipped to the local dealer, from where I picked it up. The instrument has been in my possession since October 2022. Included: - Hardcase - Straps - Key to lock the hardcase, incl. one spare A bass accordion is the "double bass" of the accordion family, playing in the same register as the aforementioned instrument. It has a dark and warm tone which matches well with the standard accordion. The instrument also doubles very well with low strings (and even with trombone) and is excellent for any ensemble in which a double bass would fit, though is most commonly used in accordion orchestras and small accordion ensembles.
