Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold. This bible is in nice condition except for the usual wear - see photo's as they are part of the description. the cover has a beautiful patina. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''For God and our Ountry'', which is a relatively rare version.
