Large 18th/19th Century Chinese Powder Blue & Gilt "Phoenix-Tail" Vase This impressive porcelain vase features a classic "phoenix-tail" or Yenyen silhouette, characterized by a baluster body that rises from a slightly flared foot to a wide, trumpet-shaped neck. The exterior is finished in a rich, mottled cobalt "powder blue" glaze. The body and neck are finely decorated in gilt (gold) with intricate scenes depicting birds (fenix), flowers, and foliage. The original gilt painted decoration is applied over the glaze and shows wear from handling over time. The vase has a hole in the bottom; it was modified to be used as a lamp base. Weight is 4012 gr. Height 48,5 cm. Width 20cm. Diameter of the rim is 15,8 cm.
