Hakeme 铁绘酒杯 - 现代日本陶瓷艺术 - 陶瓷 - 高内秀剛 Takauchi Hidetake (1937-) - 日本 - 1900–2000

Item Description: This refined sake cup (sakazuki) is a distinguished work by the celebrated contemporary ceramic artist 高内秀剛 Takauchi Hidetake (1937-). The piece exemplifies the artist's masterful command of traditional Japanese glazing techniques combined with bold, modern sensibility. The cup features the hakeme (brush mark) technique with iron painting (tetsue), creating a dynamic interplay of textures and earth tones. The sweeping brushstrokes reveal the natural beauty of the clay body beneath, while iron oxide decoration adds visual depth and rustic elegance. This fusion of techniques demonstrates Takauchi's deep understanding of traditional pottery methods refined during his decades of work in Mashiko. Takauchi Hidetake is renowned for his bold and dynamic ceramic works, particularly his distinctive Oribe ware, which has become known as "Takauchi Oribe." After establishing his kiln, Hyakudo-gama (Hundred Children Kiln), in Mashiko in 1968, he has explored various traditional techniques including Oribe, Shino, yellow Seto, and inlay decoration, always maintaining his powerful and contemporary artistic vision. This piece comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako), confirming its authenticity. The cup is in excellent condition with no damage, making it a fine addition to any collection of contemporary Japanese ceramics or for use in sake appreciation. Size Height: 3.5 cm Width: 8.8 cm Depth: 8.8 cm Condition Excellent condition with no damage. The piece retains its original beauty and functionality.
