Narumi Oribe ware - Sasaki Tadashi - 杯子 - 陶器 - 原装盒,黄布
This is a refined guinomi (sake cup) by the Japanese ceramic artist Sasaki Tadashi (佐々木正), accompanied by its original signed wooden box (tomobako), yellow protective cloth, and biographical document. The cup features a rich, deep green glaze flowing organically over a warm, earthy clay body. The natural transitions of glaze create a beautiful contrast, pooling softly around the rim and cascading down the sides in expressive patterns.
The front of the cup is decorated with stylized motifs rendered in iron pigment, harmonizing with the rustic texture of the clay. The form is slightly irregular, offering a comfortable grip and embodying the wabi-sabi aesthetic—celebrating natural variation and handcrafted character. The foot is carefully finished, revealing the fine quality of the clay and traditional wheel-throwing technique.
The accompanying tomobako bears the artist’s inscription and seal, confirming authenticity. This guinomi is a fine example of contemporary Japanese studio pottery, ideal for collectors and for enjoying sake in an atmosphere of refined simplicity.
