Description A superb set of four identical Japanese eggshell porcelain lidded cups with matching saucers, from the Meiji period (1868–1912). Each piece is extremely thinly potted and finely decorated in vibrant polychrome enamels, depicting two samurai warriors in exquisite detail. The set carries the Hichozan Shinpo-sei mark on all components – cups, lids, and saucers – a well-known Arita ware workshop of the Meiji era. Eggshell porcelain of this quality is highly collectible for both its delicacy and the precision of the painting.
