A fine collection of antique multi-layerd indigo blue glass beads. These beads were originally produced in Western-Europe, especially Venice, in the late 19th and early 20th Cent. Very expensive beads, so only worn by Ashanti-chiefs when participating in official functions. 4-layered glass beads.
The sized vary between 13 x 28 mm. in height. Some wear and tear is visible on these beads, due to their long use. Collected in Ghana in the late 1990's.
