A fantastic Christofle & Cie silver-plated pedestal bowl that was made in Paris, France around 1893. This piece belongs to the Belle Époque era when Christofle was the undisputed leader in luxury silver-smithing. ​The design is minimalist in an "Uni" style. The deep basin sits on top of a stepped pedestal. It is made in Métal Blanc, a high-end white metal alloy, and finished with a silvering grade of 17, a heavy and durable plate. Hallmarks: "1273631": serial number dates this piece to approximately 1893. ​"17": It signifies that 17 grams of pure silver were used in the plating. ​Scales of Justice with Wheat and Flower: This is the official "Gros Poinçon" (large hallmark). The scales represent the silversmith's trade, the CC stands for Christofle & Cie, and the wheat stalks and rosette (flower) identify it as high-quality plated hollowware from the late 19th century. ​METAL BLANC (with Bee/CC symbol): This diamond-shaped mark confirms the base material is White Metal (Alpaca). ​CHRISTOFLE Condition: Good condition with light patina and minor scratches.
