Collection of antique hand-painted magic lantern slides dating from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1920). These glass projection slides were used in educational and home entertainment magic lantern shows before cinema and film projection. The scenes depict children’s stories, moral tales and everyday life illustrations in bright hand-applied colors. The slides are mounted in paper frames and some bear an artist or workshop signature.
