Exclusive stibnite (antimonite) crystsl cluster with a whopping 1.6 kilograms. The Ichinokawa Mine was once famous for producing large stibnite crystals but since it has long been closed, such specimens have become extremely rare. The mine closed in 1962. Unfortunately, many fine examples have been dispersed to museums and private collections around the world, leaving very few remaining in Japan. This specimen was likely mined more than a hundred years ago. Although it has darkened with age, that patina lends it a dignified, imposing character. It is a cherished piece from an old collection. This is a really special piece, directly imported from Japan which you usually don't see anywhere offered. Comes with the previous wooden box.
