原裝意大利 ECIP Milano 第75型工業招牌,金屬材質,尺寸40 x 33 cm,產地米蘭,1950–1960 年代,完好,使用痕跡輕微,未簽名。
賣家描述
Authentic Italian industrial sign produced by ECIP Milano, model 75, made of metal and likely dateable to the late 1950s to early 1960s.
It is an example of modern pre-standardization safety signage, belonging to the period when Italian industrial signage still featured strong illustrative and narrative elements, before the graphical standardization introduced by later European regulations.
The sign bears the inscription:
“VIETATO PASSARE O FERMARSI SOTTO PONTEGGI, IMPALCATURE O CARICHI SOSPESI”
The central illustration, in black and white, depicts a dynamic scene with workers under a scaffold and a suspended load descending: a typical example of the era’s industrial instructional graphics, designed to grab attention immediately through highly expressive images.
The graphic composition is particularly interesting:
- large red prohibition circle
- white background
- black illustration with a decisive line
- lower band with uppercase text
A powerful visual language, today highly sought after in industrial design collecting and loft furnishings.
Technical characteristics
Producer: ECIP Milano
Model: 75
Material: painted/glazed metal
Dimensions: 40 x 33 cm
Era: 1950s/1960s (pre-CEE regulation)
Origin: Italian industrial milieu
Condition
Original vintage item, not a reproduction.
Shows signs of age consistent with its era and use in industrial environments: light marginal oxidation, small abrasions and authentic patina. The graphics remain legible and the red color maintains good intensity.
HISTORICAL CONTEXT
In the 1950s and 1960s, companies like ECIP Milano produced signage for construction sites, factories and railway environments. Before European standardization, each producer used a distinct graphic style, often more illustrative and less schematic than current standards.
Today these signs are considered:
- objects of industrial archaeology
- decorative elements for loft and industrial-style spaces
- testimonies of Italian graphic design of the postwar period
