劍 - 鋼 - 日本 - 室町時代(1333-1573)

This dynamic wakizashi, although unsigned, is a very valuable piece, certified by the Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords as the work of Tsunahiro. The sword is in extremely good condition, with no rust or chips. It has been well polished and the jigane and hamon are in very visible condition. There is a spot of a forged defect on the kissaki part of the sashiomote side, but it does not affect the appreciation of the piece. In jigane, itame hada is well developed and moist, and hataraki such as yubashiri and chikei are very active. Hamon has a very powerful yet picturesque beauty with the gunome forged into the large midare. It is a pleasure to continue admiring it forever, as it is mixed with fukurochoji and hakomidare in some places. Although the Nakago has no signature, in November 1983, the Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords recognized this piece as a genuine Tsunahiro piece and issued a certificate of authenticity. Tsunahiro was a swordsmith active from the Koto period to the Meiji period. The first Tsunahiro moved from Kamakura to Odawara during the Warring States period and laid the foundation of the Odawara smith group with the support of the emerging power of the Gohojo family. The character “tsuna Ein his swordsmith name was given to him by Ujitsuna, the second head of the Gohojo family. The second generation was then called upon by Tokugawa Ieyasu and continued to prosper during the Edo period, continuing to make swords until the Meiji era. A Wakizashi with this much history and in excellent condition at this very affordable price. This is a deal you definitely do not want to miss out on.
