Renaissance Bronze Religious Medallion with an Image of St. Ignacio Layola (Founder of the Jesuits Order) & St. Francisc on Reverse. Saint Ignatius of Loyola, was a Spanish Catholic priest and theologian, who, with six companions, founded the religious order of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), and became its first Superior General, in Paris in 1541. Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone (ca. 1181–3 October 1226), known as Francis of Assisi, was an Italian mystic, poet and Catholic friar who founded the religious order of the Franciscans. Inspired to lead a Christian life of poverty, he became a beggar and an itinerant preacher. One of the most venerated figures in Christianity, Francis was canonized by Pope Gregory IX on 16 July 1228. Intact with a nice brown patina and still Wearable.
