The set includes the kabuto helmet with kuwagata antlers, a menpo face mask with moustache, cuirass, shoulder guards, arm guards, thigh guards, shin guards, and a padded waist support cord. The armour is accompanied by its original armour storage chest. A display stand is not included. The armour features black lacquered plates laced with orange, white, and dark blue silk cords, creating a bold yet refined appearance typical of samurai armour. The metal fittings are unified with chrysanthemum motifs, symbolising longevity, dignity, and noble authority in Japanese culture. The textile sections are decorated with a peony arabesque pattern, a classical motif representing prosperity, elegance, and continuous growth. Mounted on the helmet is a dragon head crest carved from wood and finished with gold leaf. In Japanese symbolism, the dragon represents power, wisdom, and divine protection, and is often associated with strength and guardianship for warriors. This armour was crafted by skilled artisans using traditional techniques and typically required between six and ten months to complete, assembling lacquered plates, silk lacing, metal fittings, and textile elements. The dragon crest was added to the armour at a later date and is slightly smaller than the original fitting; however, the armour remains visually impressive with or without it. The armour displays some age-related wear, including slight patina on the metal fittings and minor surface blemishes.
