This old tribal used Nepalese Ancestor Statue was made of heavy wood. These primitive wooden sculptures were carved and dedicated by shamans. The figures are placed in a variety of locations, such as shelters at the edge of the village. Their most apparent purpose is protective: positioned at bridges, they are intended to ensure pure water and safe passage, while at the village outskirts they are believed to safeguard the community against malevolent spirits.
