塞尔柱帝国 銀 铜制吊坠印章,双头鹰图案 (沒有保留價)
A remarkable medieval bronze pendant seal bearing the powerful image of the double-headed eagle, one of the most iconic symbols of authority and sovereignty in the medieval Near East and Anatolia.
The circular seal face is engraved with a stylized representation of the double-headed eagle with outstretched wings, a motif strongly associated with the Seljuk cultural sphere and widely used during the period of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum (12th–13th century CE). In Seljuk symbolism the double-headed eagle represented dominion over East and West, imperial authority, vigilance, and divine protection.
The seal is mounted on a slender stem terminating in a suspension loop, indicating that the piece was worn as a pendant or attached to a belt or cord. Such seals served both a practical and symbolic purpose, allowing their owner to authenticate documents or goods by stamping wax or clay while simultaneously displaying status and identity.
The engraved design remains clearly visible despite the object's considerable age, and the bronze surface has developed an attractive deep brown patina with traces of ancient corrosion, testifying to its long history.
Seals of this type were important personal objects in medieval Anatolia and the wider Islamic world, used by officials, merchants, and administrators to mark ownership and authority.
This piece combines artistic symbolism with historical function, making it an evocative artifact from the vibrant cultural landscape of medieval Anatolia.
