1. Vintage Solid Pewter Tankard – Rare Collectible with Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Emblem. Superior quality, made by Battle-Axe Pewter (British brand known for its traditional hammered pieces from around the 1950s-1970s). • “BATTLE-AXE” PEWTER EP 898 (“EP” for English Pewter – lead-free pewter compliant with British standards) • Height: 13 cm • Weight: 321 g (heavy and solid, typical of genuine antique pieces) Motif raised emblem on the body: the iconic bird of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA). Exceptional historical engraving on the body (very legible): WALTON & WEYBRIDGE BRIDGE Presented to S.J.J. REED CHAIRMAN 1948 Very good vintage condition – natural age patina, no major dents or visible repairs. Some normal usage marks for a 75+ year old piece (see photos). 2. Quality English pewter tankard was made in Sheffield, bearing the stamp to the base: “ENGLISH PEWTER MADE IN SHEFFIELD ENGLAND”. Original and touching engraving on the body: “FROM ALL YOUR COLLEAGUES JUNE 68. SCUNTHORPE DISTRICT” - very likely a retirement, transfer, or farewell gift. • Height: 12.5 cm • Weight: 356 g • Capacity: about 1 pint Very good condition for its age – uniform patina, no major dents, no cracks or visible repairs (some normal usage scratches on pewter). 3. Lovely small English pewter tankard, made in Sheffield. • Height: 9.5 cm (half-pint) • Weight: 247g (nicely heavy and high-quality for its size) • Hammered finish (textured with hammer marks, very typical of English pub tankards) • Base: clear circular mark “ENGLISH PEWTER MADE IN SHEFFIELD” (standard for Sheffield productions from the 20th century, likely lead-free – food-safe pewter of the era). Good vintage used condition – authentic patina, nice shine, no cracks, no major dents or deformations visible (some normal signs of use for age, see detailed photos). 4. Beautiful small English mug in pewter dating from the late 19th century (English or Continental style, with elements evoking 18th-century baluster measures). Research suggests that the “wrigglework” decoration or manual 'guilloché' (engraved wavy lines), is typical of pieces from the 17th-18th centuries. Oval cartouche to the front. • Height: 7 cm • Weight: 108 g Fair antique condition. Dark period patina, normal wear, age-related cracks/fissures on the upper rim (typical of “pewter pest” on old pewter with high lead content, traces of corrosion and scratches – no major breakage, stable.
