A magnificent ancestral protection amulet figure from the Sepik region, originating from the village of Mindimbit. Field collected in the 1970s, this remarkable object reflects the rich spiritual traditions of Sepik River communities, where such figures served as powerful protective charms. Carved from wood and adorned with shell elements and cassowary feathers, the figure embodies the presence and strength of ancestral spirits believed to guard the owner against misfortune, illness, and malevolent forces.
