Yasuaki Maeda 前田泰昭 - Chawan - 陶瓷 - "Yohen" 晶体釉茶碗 - 原盒

[Artist Profile] Yasuaki Maeda (b. 1932) is a highly distinguished master of contemporary Arita/Hizen ware, based in Saga Prefecture, Japan. He has served as a Councillor for the prestigious "Nitten" (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition) and Vice Chairman of the Japan Modern Decorative Crafts Association. His works are celebrated globally for their technical mastery of complex glazes and ethereal beauty. [The Artwork: "Yohen" Crystalline Glaze] This exquisite Chawan (tea bowl) showcases Maeda’s signature "Yohen" technique—a transformative crystalline glaze achieved through extreme temperature control in the kiln. The surface reveals a stunning "Hadou" (vibrant energy flow) of deep indigo, violet, and iridescent blue crystals that shift and shimmer depending on the light, reminiscent of a distant galaxy. The internal "glaze pooling" at the bottom of the bowl is particularly beautiful, showing the depth and quality of his craftsmanship. [Condition & Authenticity] Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Authenticity: The artist's signature "泰" (Yasu) is incised on the base of the bowl. Original Box: This work is accompanied by its original "Tomobako" (signed and sealed wooden box), which is essential for ensuring its provenance and long-term investment value. [Dimensions] Diameter: Approx. 10.5 cm Height: Approx. 7.5 cm (Please refer to the photos for a detailed look at the dimensions and glaze texture.) [Collector’s Note] Maeda's works are prized by international collectors as "sculptural light," representing the peak of 20th-century Japanese ceramic art. This piece is not just a tea ceremony vessel but a unique art object that will be a significant addition to any collection of Studio Pottery or Japanese Fine Art. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping.
