André Lamarche – Vallauris – Pair of Marine Decor Studio Pottery Vases – Fish & Seahorse – France – 1960s

Beautiful pair of vintage studio pottery vases by André Lamarche, produced in Vallauris, France, during the 1960s.

The vases feature a striking marine-themed decoration with fish, seahorse and sea plants in colourful relief. The decoration stands out against a textured volcanic “lava” glaze surface typical of Vallauris ceramics from the mid-20th century. The interior is finished with a vivid orange glaze that contrasts beautifully with the darker exterior.

This combination of relief decoration, lava glaze texture and bright enamel colours is characteristic of the artistic ceramic production that made Vallauris internationally renowned during the 1950s–1970s.

One of the vases bears a hand-incised signature on the decoration.

Condition
Good vintage condition. Minor chips on the rim visible in the photographs, consistent with age and use. Please review the photos carefully as they form part of the description.
