Authentic EA 116 Aluminium Group chair designed by Charles & Ray Eames and produced by Vitra for the European market.

This example dates to the late 1970s / early 1980s period, confirmed by the original Vitra label with Eames signature and embossed production stamp (838 146) inside the aluminium frame.

The EA 116 belongs to the iconic Aluminium Group series introduced in 1958 and is characterised by its elegant 4-star swivel base and polished aluminium side profiles.

Condition:
The aluminium frame, arms and base are in very good structural condition with normal signs of age. The chair is stable.

The original artificial leather upholstery shows significant wear and cracking at the seat and requires replacement. The internal structure remains intact, making this an ideal candidate for professional reupholstery with fabric or leather of choice.
