花瓶 - 佐藤圭秀(Keishu Sato,1944–1988),附有题铭的友箱, 陶器 - 日本 - 花 / 花瓶 / 備前燒 (沒有保留價)

This vase is made from natural clay, hand-thrown and then fired at high temperature, presenting a simple yet powerful aesthetic. The lines are simple yet powerful, embodying the simple, restrained, and profound beauty of Japanese ceramics. The body has a natural dark brown tone, and the surface retains the texture and kiln-transformation of the fired material, making it both warm and substantial, exuding an aura of time's passage. The glaze features a naturally flowing kiln-transformation effect, presenting a layered texture of deep brown, amber, and grayish-brown. Localized mottled patterns evoke the marks of time, making each piece unique. The exposed clay at the base retains its delicate texture, creating a subtle contrast with the glazed upper surface and adding a touch of handcrafted warmth. The piece is accompanied by its original signed wooden storage box (tomobako) and artist’s shiori certificate, confirming its authenticity and provenance. Artist: Keishu Sato佐藤圭秀(1944-1988)(artist name 圭 also signed on the bottom of the vase) Born in 1944 in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, into a family of Bizen ware makers. His eldest brother, Moesuke Sato (a Bizen City Intangible Cultural Property Holder), is a Bizen ware artist, and his father, Takashi Sato, is known as a lover of old Bizen pottery. After training at the Bizen Ceramic Art Center, he built a kiln and went independent. He received numerous awards and selections at exhibitions, including the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. Although he passed away in 1988, his works remain highly valued and are still traded as secondhand and antique items. The piece is accompanied by its original signed wooden storage box (tomobako) and artist’s shiori certificate, confirming its authenticity and provenance. Dimensions: 9 x 9 x 24 cm Good condition, there are stains and wear off from using and aging, please also take a look at the listed photos for a reference. Will be well packaged and shipping by Japan Post in fast delivery.
